This Black History Month take part in family-friendly day of activities that will explore the world of Afrofuturism.
Hosted by DET Entertainment, Trinity Centre & Edson Burton, Afrometropolis 2.0: Shock & Wonder (Oct 23), is an opportunity to playfully reimagine what it is to be Black Using through a range of activities inspired by Afrofuturisism. Learn and collaborate with others in a fun and informal environment.
Using collage art create images of the ‘Afrofuture You,’ transform a full-scale model into a fabulous ‘Afronaut’ be part of a live illustration of the Afrofuture City and respond to word prompts to write stories or poems.
Activities will be led by Drojan Visuals, Lucy J Turner, writer/historian Edson Burton.
After the workshop, come join DJ Ashanti 007 for a evening of dance, food, and music.
